This Teacher Guide is developed to assist educators in the following way:

    Features:

Each suggested weekly schedule provides five lessons that combine reading, worksheets, vocabulary-building opportunities, and activities. Worksheets are perforated and three-hole punched—materials are easy to tear out, hand out, grade, and store. Adjust the schedule and materials needed to best work within your educational program.

    Workflow:

Students will read the pages in their book and then complete each section of the Teacher Guide. They should be encouraged to complete as many of the activities and projects as possible as well. Tests are given at regular intervals with space to record each grade. If used with younger students, they may be given the option of only choosing activities or projects of interest to them and taking open book tests.

    Daily Schedule:

Includes a suggested daily schedule for the course. Space is given for assignment dates. There is a flexibility in scheduling for the educator. We suggest reading selections on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Projects are supplied to be completed on Thursdays. Friday students will listen to an audio recording that reviews the material covered during the week. Also, on Friday a teacher may choose to give an oral test as well, based on the worksheet questions. Please keep in mind that each student will word answers differently, and that is fine. The answers provide you with a guideline.

    Activities:

Supports active learning with fun, educational activities each week.

    Time:

Approximately 30 to 45 minutes per lesson, depending on allowed discussion time.
