Listen as we explore the multifaceted life of Benjamin Rush, "The Patriot Doctor," who signed the Declaration of Independence as one of America's key Founding Fathers. His compassion and foresight were vital to the new nation. A passionate educator, supporter of equal rights and opportunities for all, he began the nation's health clinic system. In 1775 Dr. Rush and his lifelong friend Benjamin Franklin helped organize America's first Anti-Slavery Society.

Go behind the scenes to Chicago in 1893 as African American surgeon Daniel Hale Williams, the founder of Provident Hospital and Nursing Training School, makes medical history when he successfully pioneers open heart surgery.

Travel to 1838 as Sarah and Angelina Grimké tour New England boldly presenting talks again the inhumanity of slavery.

"Up in the Andes" features Ferdinand and Ana Stahl's missionary adventures in Peru and Bolivia.

In "Dr. Rabbit," medical missionary Eric B. Hare, earns the respect of Burma's Karen people.
