Past and Present Collide on the Railway
When life seems weighed down by challenges, there are always pillars of enduring hope and love to be discovered.
Rose Rushing Water, a member of the Oglala tribe, arrives back home on the Pine Ridge Reservation after training to be a nurse in Boston, and she is assigned to work with a doctor at the agency. While she has been away, one of her brothers has become a policeman on the reservation, working with the government toward peace; the other brother, however, clings to the traditional ways of their people. With her brothers at odds, Rose prays for peace within her family...and her tribe.
Tribal policeman Nathaniel Gray Cloud struggles to keep peace on the reservation and support his sister, who is also desperate to hold on to family traditions. When tensions rise during a public tribal dance, Nathaniel finds himself paired with Rose as they defend the Ghost Dancers' right to perform, even while government officials threaten to arrest the dancers as troublemakers.
Can Rose and Nathaniel find a peace that comes only from God, or will they lose their families and their lives as hostilities reach a boiling point at Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota.
