Tom Fairfield at Sea or the Wreck of the Silver Star

At the beginning of the school term, Tom discovers that his parents' ship has wrecked during the voyage home from Australia. Tom at once sets out to make the long voyage to find some news of his parents, and, if possible, to rescue them.  Unbeknownst to Tom, his nemesis of Elmwood Hall, Professor Skeel, has assumed an alias and is travelling aboard Tom's vessel!  When Tom's ship also suffers catastrophe, Tom works to save his fellow passengers while the cruel nature of Mr. Skeel is revealed.

Will Tom ever be rescued himself? And will he ever find his parents?
