River Treasure

A black orphan boy, a cruel stepmother, an injured dog, a Civil War treasure, and a treacherous river are all part of this heart-warming story from rural North Carolina. Twelve-year-old Guy's heart grew cold in his dislike for Hett, his cruel stepmother. Running away, Guy and his dog started on an adventurous journey that would lead them to a new family, a newfound forgiveness and, maybe, an old River Treasure.
